Does catching the bouquet or garter at a wedding really mean you are destined to be the next to get married? My husband and I ended up in a discussion about this last night after finding out that the couple who caught the bouquet and garter at our wedding announced their engagement yesterday. While we would like to be able to take some credit for this wonderful news, statistics show that catching the bouquet or garter at a wedding could actually prolong your future nuptials. Sorry ladies! What began as a tradition in Midieval Eurpoe, catching the bouquet or garter these days may only mean that you have the keenest wits and the sharpest elbows around.
